How the AI Director works
How Cutroom's AI Director edits your timeline — the same operations as the UI, fully undoable, always behind the spend gate.
The Director isn’t a chatbot bolted onto a renderer. It’s a second operator on your write-path: it calls the exact same typed operations your toolbar calls — ripple-trim, insert, grade, retime — on one shared op-log and one undo stack.
What that means for you
- Nothing it does is unavailable to you by hand. If a button can do it, so can the Director; if a button can’t, neither can it.
- A whole pass is one undoable sweep. Forty operations or four, one
